My name is Jason Johnson, owner and operator of Southwest Garage Door Repair. I began repairing garage doors in 1997 with the largest, most advertised garage door company in DFW; located in Plano, Texas. For six years I was their lead technician in Tarrant County repairing over forty garage doors a week, every week. Following that, I continued for another 19 years with another company out of Plano that took over as the largest and most advertised.
I have always attributed my strong work ethic and moral compass to my time working on farms as a youth in the mid-west. This, in conjunction with a finely tuned sense of deductive reasoning, helped me grow into the most used, sub-contracting garage door technician in DFW.
Early on, I began specializing in saving doors that otherwise would have been replaced for people, often costing more money than people had available. Saving people money and making doors quiet and safe became a staple of my reputation. There isn’t a situation with a garage door, opener, or gate that I haven’t already repaired.
Because of my vast experience, I have learned which manufactures and brands of garage doors and openers are the best; what is worth repairing and what is not. I know how valuable everybody’s time is to them, so I determine what parts to carry back on my truck for repair and what parts to repair on the spot.
I try my best to be the kind of technician I would want to hire or refer to your friends, family, and neighbors. Social media has made that effort worthwhile. After nearly two decades, years of experience, countless prayers, and valuable referrals, I decided to take the jump. So, with my talented wife in the driver’s seat, I went from part-time sub-contractor and business owner, to full-time owner and operator of my own garage door company.
My wife Megan has been the best office manager and dispatcher I have ever had the pleasure to work with. The customers rave about her politeness and professionalism over the phones to me! She has been the key to our success and she genuinely enjoys helping people in the same ways that I do.
